The purpose of Dashboard is to help the business
- Focus on top business priorities
- Enable process to monitor, analyze & improve
- Identify key issues or obstacles
- Identify actions, decisions & resources required to meet objectives
Dashboard must include measures (with causal drivers) that matters to the organization and must be aligned to customer needs and organizational strategy. The number of measures tracked at higher levels must be minimized in order to maintain focus on business priorities and desired outcomes.
Dashboards must be embedded into daily operations in the organization and must be used to drive decision-making, forecast resource requirements during periods of peak demand, define quality improvement efforts, and manage business/franchise performance.
Measurement systems must be flexible to meet the challenges their organizations face. The technology used for measurement systems must be appropriate to the enterprise and the task to collect, analyze and report metric data.
